ABOUT DENTAL CROWNS
If a single tooth is damaged or worn down, it can be protected and strengthened with a high-quality dental crown. Also known as a cap, crowns are custom made to fit over your tooth and match the color of your surrounding teeth for a seamless and natural appearance. At Enviable Smiles dentistry, we offer dental crowns to treat large cavities, protect weak teeth, restore cracked teeth, and cover discolored teeth. Our team of board-certified dental professionals uses high-grade porcelain crowns that look natural and improve your overall smile. Enviable Smiles dentistry patients have the most gorgeous smiles. To get your own sexy Enviable Smiles smile, schedule a consultation at Enviable Smiles dentistry and learn more about how a dental crown can improve the overall health and appearance of your smile.
Dental crowns may be needed in a variety of situations. They can be used to keep a tooth (weakened by decay) from breaking or they can hold parts of a tooth together that have already cracked. Crowns can also be used to fix a tooth that is loose or extremely worn down. They can serve as a covering and support for a tooth with a large cavity that cannot support a normal filling, to hold a dental bridge in place, and to cover misshapen or discolored teeth. Enviable Smiles dentistry crowns are made of top-quality porcelain and are secured with state-of-the-art techniques and advanced technology to ensure a beautiful result.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During your consultation, one of Enviable Smiles' dental professionals will take impressions of your teeth so your crown can be custom made. If needed, a temporary crown can be placed over your tooth while your custom crown is in production. Once your crown is ready, our support staff will schedule an appointment for placement. After settling into one of our luxurious treatment chairs, you will be offered a pair of Beats headphones and Enviable Smiles sunglasses to help you feel at ease during your procedure. Next, the area to be treated will be numbed with a local anesthetic. Other sedation options may be available to help you feel more comfortable during the procedure if you have any fears or anxieties. Once you are ready, a skilled dentist will prepare the tooth by removing any areas of decay, then filing down the tooth to make room for the crown so it will fit snugly. The crown will be cemented onto the tooth or attached to the dental implant. After the crown is set, we will adjust the fit of the crown, so your bite is correct.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Before your dental implant appointment is scheduled, our team will make sure you do not need gum or bone grafts. If it is determined that you do, those procedures will be performed beforehand. Once your mouth is ready for implants, we will schedule your first appointment to begin the process. Prior to your procedure, a member of our team will help you to fully relax in one of our massaging treatment chairs, where you will be given a pair of Enviable Smiles sunglasses and offered Beats headphones so you can enjoy your favorite music. Next, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make an incision in your gums and place the titanium post into your jawbone. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. The gums will then be closed around the implant, leaving the post visible above the gumline. Over the next few months, the implant will begin to integrate with the bone and gum. During this time, a temporary restoration will be used to protect the post. Once your mouth has healed, our team will attach your custom restoration to the post(s), revealing a gorgeous new smile.
Because of the nature of the surgery, you should expect a bit of swelling in your gums and face along with possible bruising, discomfort, and minor bleeding following your dental implant procedure. A certain degree of these symptoms is completely normal, but severe or prolonged symptoms should be reported to our office. Our team may prescribe pain medications and antibiotics along with detailed aftercare instructions, including what activities to avoid, to help you recover smoothly. Once your implant(s) has healed and your custom restoration has been attached, you should follow a good home oral care routine, including daily brushing and flossing. Follow-up appointments to check your progress will be scheduled. Enviable Smiles dentistry highly recommends the continued scheduling of dental examinations and cleanings so that we can help you keep your restorations gorgeous for a lifetime.
